Reporting Line:

The Senior Materials Coordinator will report directly to the Materials and Logistics Team Lead.

Role:

The Senior Materials Coordinator will be responsible for end-to-end materials and logistics coordination in support of the Well-Safe projects. The role interfaces closely with the P&A operations team (including Superintendents and Offshore Materials Coordinators) and Apache’s Logistics function to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of personnel, equipment, and materials.
This role acts as the primary coordination and assurance interface, ensuring operational requirements are clearly defined, tracked, and delivered in line with the agreed programme and budget.

Key responsibilities:
The Senior Materials Coordinator will be required to:

Logistics & Materials Coordination

  • Coordinate day-to-day logistics support for marine, aviation, personnel, and equipment in support of rig reactivation and P&A operations.
  • Participate in daily marine calls with Apache, Petersons, and the wider operations team to align vessel availability, backload plans, and upcoming equipment requirements.
  • Support daily installation calls, highlighting logistics, personnel, equipment, marine, or aviation constraints and confirming forward plans aligned with the approved programme.
  • Coordinate with the Offshore Abandonment Materials Coordinator to develop and maintain load-out and backload lists, ensuring readiness for planned sailings.
  • Arrange collections, deliveries, storage, and off-hire of materials via the logistics provider, maintaining clear visibility of material location and status at all times.
  • Ensure robust control and tracking of HCR (High Consequence Risk) materials, including correct handling, certification, segregation, and documentation.

Cost & Commercial Support

  • Raise, track, and manage Purchase Requisitions (PRs), including requests for PO uplifts where required, in accordance with Well-Safe processes and approvals.
  • Perform technical checks of logistics-related invoices prior to submission to Finance, ensuring alignment with services delivered and agreed rates.
  • Maintain logistics and materials cost trackers, supporting weekly cost reporting against AFE and forecast campaign spend.

Planning, Tracking & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate daily tracking of personnel movements, equipment, and materials across onshore and offshore locations.
  • Update and issue weekly materials and logistics trackers for review by senior management, highlighting variances, emerging risks, and upcoming requirements.
  • Proactively identify logistics constraints or clashes and escalate early to the Superintendent and Apache Logistics team with practical mitigation options
Key outcomes:
  • Accurate daily tracking of personnel, equipment, and materials
  • Weekly logistics and materials trackers aligned to AFE and forecast spend
  • Load-out and backload plans supporting the approved operations programme
  • Timely and accurate PRs, and invoice technical checks
  • Clear visibility of HCR materials status and movements

Knowledge & Competency:

Essential:

  • 10+ years’ experience in Materials coordination
  • 5+ years’ experience in a well-related function.
  • Environmental Waste Awareness (1-day awareness course)
  • Experienced in North Sea HSE and UK Regulatory Standards
  • Computer Literate
  • Completion of all mandatory training and certification requirements for MLC

  • Higher education qualification
  • Recognized qualification in Materials Management
  • Experience in developing logistics management processes
