Well-Safe Solutions, Aberdeen, though there may be a requirement to visit and work at other company locations or supplier’s premises as required.

The postholder must be able to attend our global headquarters in Aberdeen.

Reporting Line:

The Lead Project Planner will report directly to the Business Services Manager.

Role:

The Lead Project Planner will  serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Project Planning, leading the project planning function, ensuring the development, implementation and governance of robust planning processes, systems and performance measures that support successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities:
The Lead Project Planner will be required to:
  • Develop, apply and drive planning guidelines across the project
  • Drive a performance management culture in the team and ensure consistency across the project including alliance partners and all sub-contractors.
  • Develop and lead guidance to contractors on preparing and issuing plans to the project
  • Implements standard planning and progress KPIs and productivity measures based on Earned Value and Earned Schedule to accurately report on progress for the project
  • Leads or supports Cost and Schedule Risk Analysis within the project, ensuring ownership by the PM, through sign off of a fit-for-purpose CSRA report.
  • Accountable for building, and QC of rolled up project plan and challenging all inputs
  • Facilitates good housekeeping of Primavera P6 – sets codes and ensures alignment
Key outcomes:
  • Project Planning requirements are readily available, lean and described in simple terms.
  • Roles and responsibilities of our Project Planners are clear and understood and consistent within the project for each stage and decision gate.
  • Planning and Progress reporting requirements for our alliance partners and our Main Subcontractors are clear and understood throughout each development phase for all projects.
  • Continuous Improvement to our performance management methods and culture, delivered through integrated project controls, which in turn should increase the predictability of contractor performance, and hence mitigate project and portfolio schedule related risks.

Knowledge & Competency:

Essential:

  • Significant experience and knowledge of Primavera P6
  • Significant knowledge and experience of integrated project planning in North Sea and Decommissioning
  • Detailed understanding of Project Controls, across Planning, Cost, Risk, MoC, EVM, etc.
  • Open and effective communicator
  • Ability to lead and influence others

Desired:

  • Knowledge of Association of Project Management terminology (APM BoK)
