Location:

Well-Safe Solutions Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit, though there may be a requirement to visit and work at other company locations or supplier’s premises as required.

The postholder must be able to attend our global headquarters in Aberdeen.

Reporting Line:

The Asset HSE Advisor will report directly to the OIM, with functional reports to the HSE Manager & Abandonment Supervisor (Days) ASV when required.

Role:

The Asset HSE Advisor responsibilities are to include the facilitation and management of the company’s integrated Business Management system to levels that will successfully

achieve the requirements of all interested parties including customer, regulatory and certification authorities/providers.

Key responsibilities:

It is implicit that the roles and responsibilities described within this job description are to be delivered in accordance with Well-Safe Solutions business principles, management

systems, work processes and procedures while complying with all applicable regulatory standards and requirements

The Asset HSE Advisor will be required to:
  • Lead the development of MODU management systems and procedures
  • Prepare and deliver Crew and 3rd Party on-boarding safety leadership inductions
  • Manage the up-take, submission and analysis of HSE reporting systems
  • Facilitate the delivery of HSE Knowledge and competence initiatives
  • Proactively participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIMOP’s reviews
  • Monitor and support the timely close out of Incident investigations, non-Conformances, Corrective Actions and Management of Change Reports
  • Validate and verify SEMS related plans as per documented procedures
  • Lead Occupational Health and Environmental monitoring
  • Support Well P&A Operations as requested by ASV
  • Develop MODU based BMS audits, inspections and themed HSE initiatives
  • Act as Focal point and Liaison with offshore safety representatives
Key outcomes:

Operational Excellence

  • MODU all personnel Inductions completed within 4 hours of arrival
  • Reporting and close out of SEMS actions in accordance with agreed KPI’s/timescales
  • HSE statistical analysis shows Improving trend by quarter, till set targets are met, and proven to be sustained
  • Crew core competency levels improve on a quarterly basis to achieve set targets
  • Zero disruption to planned Well operations resulting from ineffective or untimely HSE support

HSE Culture of Excellence

  • High level of engagement from crews and third parties in use of SEMS reporting systems
  • Effective sharing and follow up of reported observations as per SEMS reporting systems
  • Proactive monitoring and engagement with Crew/Contractors/External providers
  • Provision of Management reports in line with agreed timescales
  • Provision of HSE deliverables required as part of Project HSE plans
  • Compliance with approval body and regulatory requirements (i.e. ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, 45001:2018)

Knowledge & Competency:

Industry knowledge is a critical element to the effectiveness of the role describe. Training and support are to be provided to the job holder, but as a minimum the following core element would apply:

Essential:

  • UK MIST, Shoulder Measurement, BOSIET or FOET, OGUK Medical
  • 3 years prior experience on &offshore HSE role
  • Minimum 5 yrs. experience in the use of HSE Managements systems
  • Certified Internal Auditor Training as recognised by IRCA
  • Certified Lead Auditor Training as recognised by IRCA
  • Health and Safety Qualification at NEBOSH General Certificate level
  • Trained in Investigation and Root Cause Analysis

Desired:

  • Knowledge and experience of Well Plug & Abandonment and/or Decommissioning activities
  • CPD maintained in accordance with relevant Professional bodies (i.e. CQI, IOSH, IEMA)
  • Train the Trainer certification of training certificate
  • Recognised training or awareness in Human Factor risks identification
  • Recognised training or awareness in mental health symptoms and treatments
