The HSE Trainee (Entry Level) will report directly to the dedicated mentor.

Key responsibilities:
The HSE Trainee (Entry Level) will be required to:
- Support HSE Department functions through maintaining and updating records and provision and have accurate written/numeric capabilities
- Show and demonstrate a willingness to absorb and comprehend information relating to safety aspects of the role as provided by their mentor
- Learn, understand and apply the basics of risk assessment methodologies
- Assist as required in the formatting of relevant departmental documentation such as Health Safety and Environmental procedures
- Recognise and understand the importance of Regulatory bodies in relation to Health and Safety matters
- Develop and demonstrate an awareness and understanding of the key legislations relating to on and offshore activities
- May be requested to contribute the internal auditing requirements as directed
- Learn and demonstrate competency in the provisions of conducting successful on-boarding safety leadership inductions
- Champion departmental EHS reporting requirements and data gathering
- Demonstrate an understanding and awareness of incident investigation
- Gain an appreciation of the purpose of the asset Safety Cases
- Understand and demonstrate the importance of offshore safety reps and become an active participant in relevant safety meetings
- Minute meetings as directed
- Assist with Display Screen Assessments and update records as directed
- Be physically capable of achieving the requirements to enable offshore visits
- As a member of the HSE Team you will be expected to conduct yourself in a manner that reflects the high HSE standards expected by WSS
Key outcomes:
- Continue to improve understanding of the role by continuing to increase HSE knowledge and completion of any competence initiatives
- Provide accurate and timely information as requested
- Demonstrate a continual increased level of understanding relating to Accident/Incident prevention through Improved Hazard identification and control initiatives
- Inductions completed to meet the onboarding schedule(s)
- Ability to review and discuss daily observation cards where required
- Proactive engagement with rig Safety Reps
- Meet training and competence requirements of this role
Business compliance
- Contribute to the tracking and closure of relevant actions in accordance with agreed KPI’s/timescales
- Support verification and Approval body compliance
- Support the provision of HSE deliverables
- Support company compliance with approval body and regulatory requirements (i.e. ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, 45001:2018)
