About Mike

Mike joins Well-Safe as the QHSE Director, bringing over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Throughout his career, he has held senior positions with operators and EPC contractors, spanning QHSE, project and operations management, and corporate leadership roles.

After graduating with a civil engineering degree from the University of Aberdeen, Mike began his career with Aker Solutions as a structural engineer, working on both brownfield and greenfield projects across the UK and Norway. Following a period with Texaco, he joined Kvaerner, where he later led the integration of the UK-based businesses with Aker. Mike spent several years with Aker Solutions in a variety of leadership positions, including HSEQ, decommissioning, operations and maintenance, and projects and modifications. He subsequently served four years as Managing Director for the UK business, where he successfully led the organisation through a period of significant growth.

Mike then spent time in Hungary to serve as Global Head of HSE for MOL’s upstream division. He later returned to the UK to join Fairfield Energy as HSEQ Manager during the decommissioning phase of the Dunlin platform in the North Sea.

Most recently, Mike worked with PD&MS Group as VP Assurance and Sustainability, where he was responsible for key customer contracts as well as the HSE, quality, and sustainability functions.

At Well-Safe, Mike will engage with all stakeholders to uphold a strong QHSE culture and to support the company’s commitment to preventing harm to people, property, and the environment.
