The postholder must be able to attend our global headquarters in Aberdeen.

Reporting Line:

The Senior Subsea Engineer will report directly to the Wells Subsea Team Lead.

Role:

The Senior Subsea Engineer role is to lead the identification, engineering and delivery of key subsea components to deliver safe and efficient Well Decommissioning operations. Support offshore execution and coordinate team of offshore engineers towards project and company goals.

Key responsibilities:
The Job Title will be required to:
  • Onshore planning and execution of Subsea P&A Operations
  • Promote safety in all aspects of manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, testing, planning, operations and performance
  • Plan and support fatigue and wellhead loading analysis
  • Work with operator engineers to maximise use of existing equipment
  • Develop and manage vendor resource plans to support offshore activities
  • Perform detailed subsea Well Decommissioning operational planning, identifying risks and providing solutions and contingencies
  • Build and maintain relationships with supply chain, in particular OEM providers, to enable Well-Safe to support Well Decommissioning planning from FEED through to Execute
  • Manage supply chain delivery of subsea equipment (both rental and purchase)
  • Work with OEM’s to identify and source rental and purchase items critical to operations
  • Work with sub-contractors to understand optimum ways of executing P&A operations whilst minimising need for new equipment
  • Work closely with Well-Safe asset teams to identify operational requirements and enable optimisation of subsea operations
Key outcomes:
  • Technical subsea support for Well-Safe projects, tenders and operations
  • On schedule and budget delivery of all subsea equipment for well interfaces
  • Minimise requirement for new built subsea equipment

Knowledge & Competency:

Essential:

  • Self-starter who can take initiative and work under their own supervision
  • Excellent organisational, time-management and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A minimum of eight years’ experience in subsea production systems and intervention equipment
  • A minimum of three years’ operator experience, or equivalent

Desired:

  • Previous subsea well intervention experience (including EDP/LRP, landing strings and IWOCS)
  • Strong project management skills and able to deliver across multiple work fronts
  • Experience in design of bespoke well access solutions
  • Offshore and Onshore OEM experience
