Location:

Well-Safe Solutions, Perth, WA, though there may be a requirement to visit and work at other company locations or supplier’s premises as required.

The postholder must be able to attend our headquarters in Perth.

Reporting Line:

The Estimator will report directly to the General Manager (Asia Pacific) with a functional reporting line to the Commercial Manager (Aberdeen).

Role:

The Estimator will be responsible for the day-to-day tasks related to estimating well plug and abandonment projects.

To support the Commercial Department by constructing commercial models for business opportunities, and supporting the Commercial Processes throughout the opportunity cycle.

The candidate will work closely across all departments to ensure that client requirements and operational scope are fully understood. They will also work across functions so that both costs and market conditions are evaluated for the purposes of competitive pricing.

Key responsibilities:
The Estimator will be required to work collaboratively with the Commercial Manager and Bid Manager to:
  • Define and work to relevant Procedures and Processes
  • Manage the proposal development, working with key stakeholders (engineering, operations, finance, contracts, commercial, legal etc.) Ensure all requested information is provided, setting, and maintaining deadlines.
  • Conduct cost analysis for tenders, creating commercial models for approval in line with the Delegation of Authority (DOA)
  • Work with supply chain to obtain proposals for specific third-party requirements.
  • Compilation of Proposals, Quotations and Tender response documentation, including collation and formatting to Well-Safe marketing & branding standards
  • Co-ordinate technical inputs for tenders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the preparation of tenders
  • Manage clarification process to ensure timely responses and accurately record same
Key outcomes:
  • Work with Commercial Manager and Bid Manager to ensure bids are delivered efficiently and professionally
  • All commercial opportunities and risks are clearly identified and managed
  • Build and maintain commercial models of prescribed offerings to customer requirements, to deliver business objectives.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider WSS team with an identifiable #oneteam culture;
  • Demonstrable continuous improvement as a result of capturing and implementing tenders debriefing lessons learned.

Knowledge & Competency:

Essential:

  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in estimating or project costing
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools – Master level skills in Excel

Desired:

  • Knowledge of well decommissioning and plug and abandonment processes
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Energy Management, or related fields
  • Prior experience in energy industry
  • Knowledge of Salesforce of similar Customer Relationship Management tools
  • Knowledge of Xait Porter or other content management tools.
